Letters from Afghanistan

Introduction

This series of blogs record my experiences in Afghanistan, from 2011 to 2016. The first group were originally published by CBC Charlottetown as part of their online reporting. The second group were letters sent to a group of family, friends, and colleagues who had signed up to receive them.

Although the Teacher Certification and Accreditation of Teacher Training Institutions in Afghanistan Project (TCAP) is long finished, I have been asked by a number of people whether I could make these blogs available to a wider audience. They are posted here as a means of archiving my experiences in Afghanistan, and I hope you find them an interesting read. I have not edited them – what you see here are the original versions, complete with photographs, typos, and information presented with certainty but subsequently proven to be wrong!

In addition to the posted blogs, I have written two introductory letters which I hope set the stage in terms of describing my interest in this wonderful, but perplexing, area of the world.
